ADAM Rickitt has revealed that he lost his entire soap fortune after his alcoholic father “stole” all of his cash.
The actor, 47, rose to fame portraying Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street in the late nineties and for his pop 1999 pop hit I Breath Again.

6But revealing he was left with nothing from his hard work, Adam has opened up for the first time about the fractured relationship he had with his late dad.
Adam appeared on Vanessa Feltz’ eponymous TV show earlier today, where they were discussing family feuds like the Beckham row.
On the show, Adam said: “If you google ‘Adam Rickitt net worth’ it comes up with a figure, it’s not that figure because [my dad] stole all my money.
“And he did it three times.

“So, even though I was 18 years old and did Corrie and did the pop music and money was coming in, it kept just going to him and he kept losing it,” Adam explained.
Continuing that it severely fractured their relationship, Adam recalled: “And then, when he made money – my dad was a very successful merchant banker – he was pulling in millions of pounds a year himself.
“But, he was also a flaming alcoholic,” he said.
“I kept lending him money, he kept wasting it, but then he would make money.
“And rather than paying me back, he’d go and spend it on his friends. He’d never spend it on his family or pay me back.
“So, we ended up falling out for 15 years.”
Adam says he did finally reconnect with his dad, who was left “penniless” and having his home re-possessed due to the crippling debt.
Back in the late nineties, Adam rose to fame on Coronation Street as Nick – who is now played by Ben Price.
He then had a role in Aussie soap opera Shortland Street for three years, leaving the show in 2010.
Opting for a life away from showbiz, Adam now owns a craft beer pub Dexter and Jones in Cheshire.
